1. Network-enabling Healthcare Monitoring Devices

Healthcare Facilities such as hospitals and laboratories rely mostly upon monitoring devices like blood analyzers, pulse oximeters, and liquid analyzers to efficiently diagnose and treat patients.

Most of the above mentioned monitoring devices have a serial port, rely on a dedicated PC and a manual data collection process that requires the valuable time of medical personnel such as nurses and technicians- time that could be better spent on patient care, monitoring and diagnostics.

Wireless Device Solutions - Network-enabling Healthcare Monitoring Devices

Therefore, the customer began looking to add network connectivity to effectively monitor these devices from remote locations; however, they realized that a cost-effective Multi-port device server was required. They also wanted to have a flexibility to reset their Medical devices when an event occurs at serial side. With these requirements in mind, the Sena Business Partner recommended a solution, the HelloDevice SS800 and they are using now.

In addition to the Serial to Ethernet conversion functionality that enables the customer to monitor measurement devices remotely, Sena has provided a customized application, which is featured with "serial-break" signal and can be uploaded to the SS800's user space. By adding the "serial-break" signal application, the SS800, is now able to send a break signal to Medical devices that resets when an event occurs at serial side, which the customer has desired.

The customer is now happy with the "serial-break" signal functionality that is provided by the Customization features of the Super Series.

Solutions:  STS400, STS800 and STS1600

Benefits:

  • The benefits of network-enabling medical monitoring devices include: facilitates remote management of multiple serial patient care devices via LANs or WANs; reduces cabling; retain existing equipment; and access via a standard web browser, Telnet, SSH, and user's software.

2. Network-enabling Medical Equipment

The Healthcare industry is an ever growing segment of the market with their services and support. As Healthcare providers grow they have the need to expand their infrastructure while maintaining reasonable costs.

Wireless Device Solutions - Network-enabling medical equipment

Sena Technologies products allow for cost effective, quick setup, enabling you to network enable medical equipment. Thus, lowering costly upgrades to already expensive medical equipment. In a hospital setting, the speed at which tests can be conducted is a very important sample. Usually samples, require that the test results pass through a couple of testing departments before it can get back to the doctors to expedite a proper treatment. By network enabling serial based medical equipment, some of the processes can be automated, as a result increases the speed at which test can be run and displayed. Also, since the medical device are now able to communicate throughout the network, medical officials can view and analyze medical data remotely from anywhere within their network infrastructure.

Solutions:  PS110, PS410 and PS810

Benefits:

  • Low-Cost solutions allowing you to network enable your devices.
  • Flexibility to remotely monitor and control and monitor healthcare devices.
  • Easy access and quick device configuration of the HelloDevice, by way of a Web Browser, telnet.

3. Network-enabling Vascular Machines

The Healthcare industry is an ever growing segment of the market with their services and support. As Healthcare providers grow they have the need to expand their infrastructure while maintaining reasonable costs.

Wireless Device Solutions - Network-enabling vascular machines

Customer was looking for a flexible solution that allowed them to develop an online diagnostic tool for their vascular machines. The SS100 with its customizability features allowed Customer to make use of the Super Series' built-in web server and custom application features (allows you to manipulate the data coming to and from the Super Series Device Server), as a result being able to implement their diagnostic tool quickly and efficiently.

Solutions:  SS100, STS400, STS800 and STS1600

Benefits:

  • Low-Cost solutions allowing you to network enable your devices.
  • Flexibility to remotely monitor and control and monitor healthcare devices.
  • Easy access and quick device configuration of the HelloDevice, by way of a Web Browser, telnet.
  • Flexible Customizability options, such as, built-in Web Server, C-based custom application, etc.,
  • Use of Embedded Linux Operating system..

4. Network-enabling Blood Analyzers

The Healthcare industry is an ever growing segment of the market with their services and support. As Healthcare providers grow they have the need to expand their infrastructure while maintaining reasonable costs.

Wireless Device Solutions - Network-enabling Blood Analyzers

Sena Technologies products allow for cost effective, quick setup, enabling you to network enable blood analyzers. By network enabling blood analyzers, this allows medical device manufacturers to bring their current product lineup up-to-date with today's networking standards without the need of costly redesigns. Sena Technologies also provides medical device manufacturers with the option to take advantage of Sena's OEM partnership program, which allows them to private label or customize Sena's devices to meet the needs of the manufacturer.

Solutions:  LS100W, PS110W, PS210W, LS100, LS110, PS110, PS410, PS810, SS100, STS400, STS800 and STS1600

Benefits:

  • Low-Cost solutions allowing you to network enable your devices.
  • Flexibility to remotely monitor and control and monitor healthcare devices.
  • Easy access and quick device configuration of the HelloDevice, by way of a Web Browser, telnet.

5. Device Server replaces dial-up modems in Medical Facilities

The Healthcare industry is an ever growing segment of the market with their services and support. Many Healthcare Institutions still implement dial-up communication lines with-in their infrastructure, due to the slow and unstable nature of the dial-up connection, this predicament can cause Healthcare Institutions many problems and delay medical results to where they are needed. As Healthcare providers grow they have the need to expand their infrastructure while maintaining reasonable costs, especially when upgrading from a dial-up connection to a high-density Ethernet/Broadband based system.

Since some medical network infrastructures still use dial-up networking, Sena Technologies products allow for cost effective, quick setup, enabling you to network enable medical equipment, and other serial based equipment. Also, customers can take advantage of the HelloDevice Pro Series modem emulation ability. Modem emulation allows customers to remove old dial-up modems, and replace those modems with a high-bandwidth network connection. The HelloDevice Pro Series can accept basic AT commands, like the commands found on modems, and allows your dial-up based software to make a connection to your new high-speed infrastructure. The modem emulation feature also allows customers to retain old software without having to buy or upgrade existing software.
